Commissionaires Northern Alberta Group (CNAG) Training Centre 

Located in Nisku, Alberta, the Commissionaires Northern Alberta Group (CNAG) Training Centre is a professional training and education facility dedicated to serving the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), and the broader public safety and security community.

In addition to supporting government and public safety organizations, the Training Centre is open to the public and offers a variety of courses and training programs. We also partner with veteran advocacy organizations and community groups seeking access to a high-quality training environment. 

Our facility is fully wheelchair accessible and equipped with family-friendly amenities. As Western Canada’s veteran-powered training partner, we are committed to delivering professional, inclusive, and industry-leading training experiences. 


The Working Mind, a workplace mental health training program developed by the Mental Health Commission of Canada and delivered through Opening Minds. The course is designed to improve mental health awareness, reduce stigma, and provide practical tools to support psychological health in the workplace. 

Key topics covered included: 

Mental Health and Stigma – Understanding mental health and mental illness and recognizing how stigma can affect individuals and workplace culture. 

Mental Health Continuum – Learning to use the Mental Health Continuum as a tool to recognize changes in mental well-being and identify early warning signs in ourselves and others. 

Stress and Resilience – Exploring the effects of stress and developing practical coping and resilience strategies to maintain mental wellness. 

Psychological Safety and Supportive Conversations – Building confidence in discussing mental health respectfully and creating a supportive, psychologically safe work environment. 

The training emphasizes that mental health exists on a continuum and can change over time. By recognizing signs early, reducing stigma, and using effective coping strategies, employees and leaders can contribute to a healthier, more productive workplace. Overall, the course provides practical tools and a common language for discussing mental health, supporting colleagues, and promoting workplace well-being.
