Objective: Overdose awareness, prevention, and support to those struggling with addition or those who have lost a loved one to overdose in Leduc and surrounding areas. What’s Dylan’s Hope Foundation? Dylan’s Hope Foundation came to conception in 2018, due to a tragic loss of a member of our founder’s family. Our beloved Dylan lost his life to an overdose in Leduc on January 17, 2017, he was 23 years old. Substance Use Disorder was unfamiliar to our family and we were left alone to try to understand and make sense of the tragedy. After his passing, we were left devastated at his loss. We had many questions, we were ignorant on the opioid epidemic, and at a loss to find support or understanding for our family and friends. This evolved us to wanting to make a difference in our community. Providing the awareness of the fatal drugs to others, working towards providing education on the epidemic, making a difference to end the stigma associated with mental illness, addiction and overdose, all the while providing a safe, non-judgemental event to remember our loved ones lost to overdose in our community.
