Youth Recreation Worker / Music Studio Worker - Maskwacis


Roles & Responsibilities

    Assist with the planning and delivery of youth recreation programs, events, and activities.

    Provide a safe, positive, and welcoming environment for youth participants.

    Supervise participants during programs and encourage respectful behavior.

    Assist with setting up and taking down equipment for recreation and special events.

    Support staff with community events, workshops, and youth programming.

    Operate and assist youth in the music studio with recording, editing, and producing music using studio software and equipment.

    Provide basic instruction on recording software, microphones, mixers, and other studio equipment.

    Maintain the music studio by ensuring it is clean, organized, and ready for use at all times.

    Clean and care for studio equipment, computers, instruments, and workstations, and report any maintenance or equipment concerns.

    Ensure studio users follow established rules and safely use equipment.

    Maintain basic records of studio bookings, equipment uses, and participant attendance.

    Assist with inventory of music studio equipment and program supplies.

    Perform general administrative duties such as answering phones, greeting visitors, filing, photocopying, and preparing documents as required.

    Perform other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

    Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.

    Strong computer skills are required, including the ability to learn and operate music recording and editing software.

    Experience using digital audio workstations (DA Ws) such as GarageBand, FL Studio, Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Ableton Live, or similar software is considered an asset.

    Interest or experience in music production, audio recording, or sound engineering is considered an asset.

    Experience working with youth is preferred.

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.

    Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.

    First Aid and CPR certification is considered an asset.
