This role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions, utilizing specialized equipment to perform trimming, pruning, and removal of trees as necessary.

Duties 

  • Perform tree trimming and pruning to maintain healthy growth and appearance.
  • Utilize rigging techniques to lower branches safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct landscape maintenance tasks as needed, including the care of surrounding plants and gardens.
  • Assess tree health and identify potential hazards or diseases.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently.

Requirements 

  • You must pass a drug and alcohol test
  • A valid class 5 driver’s license; class 1 and 3 licenses are a benefit. A clean drivers abstract is required prior to employment.
  • Proven experience in tree trimming or related landscape maintenance roles is preferred.
  • Applicant MUST have standard First Aid Level C training, H2S Alive, CSTS and other courses as required during employment
  • The ability to walk outdoors through brush and hillsides, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • A pesticide applicator license is a strong asset
  • Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for mapping tree locations is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of rigging techniques for safe tree removal.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and at heights.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to safety practices.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
