Do you enjoy working with kids and are enthusiastic about literacy & learning? Then you may be who we are looking to hire to lead this year’s Summer Learning & Reading Challenge!

Our coordinators will need excellent communication and organizational skills and a passion to deliver programs that encourage pre-school and school-aged kids to celebrate the wonders of learning and most importantly have fun.

This temporary full-time position runs from May 4^th through August 14^th, 2026, for 15 weeks, 35 hours per week, and reports to our Youth Services Coordinator. Most of your work will take place during the day, Monday through Friday; however, one evening shift will be required from July to August, each week.  

Experience working with children is an asset as is having knowledge of children’s literature & STEM, strong research skills and being a team player. Our successful candidates must be willing to provide a vulnerable sector & criminal record check as part of the hiring process.

Salary: $20.00 per hour paid on a biweekly basis

Duties: 

• Plan, organize and present in-person programs for 3-12 years of age
• Promotion of the programs and visits to local schools and daycares
• Supervision and scheduling of our teen volunteers
• End of summer evaluation of all programs and activities
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
