Job Scope

Under the direction and supervision of Shop Manager, the Shop Assistant will assist with all non-specialized facets of product realization including (but not limited to), prep work, machine operation, parts inspection, tool assembly, housekeeping, material packaging & handling, and other duties as required. The Shop Assistant will also be responsible for upholding company/product quality expectations and maintaining any tools & equipment used in the course of their work.

DUTIES
• Assist in the preparation of materials for various sand control machines and inspection of completed components.
• Handling of tubulars (casing) and other materials using forklift and overhead crane to load/unload shop and machines.
• Operate band saw, shop press, drill press, phosphate tanks, pipe handling equipment, overhead & jib cranes and other shop equipment as required
• Tool assembly which may include the use of hand tools, power tools and vices as required.
• Upkeep and preventative maintenance of equipment.
• General shop duties to include housekeeping and other duties as assigned.
• Work in conjunction with the QA/QC to ensure a consistent and quality product
• Follow all company health and safety policies. Conduct day-to-day work in a safe manner.

REQUIRED SKILLS
• Familiarity with basic hand tools and shop equipment
• Time management

• Legible printing for paperwork
• Good housekeeping skills

• Familiarity with oil & gas casing, threads, and tools an ASSET

WORK ENVIRONMENT & CONDITIONS
• Exposure to dust, smoke, shop noise, vibrations
• Working inside heated shop
• Weather exposure during occasional work outside (on-site) as required

SHIFT INFORMATION
• Day Shift 7:00 am - 5:30 Mon-Thu
• Night Shift - 7:00 pm to 7:00 am Mon-Thu
• Overtime as required

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour
