Trainer Role
This role reports to the Returning Officer in the electoral division. The Returning Officer reports to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (Elections Alberta), an independent office of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta.
One Trainer will be appointed to each provincial electoral division, to conduct in-person, scenario-based training for that division’s election officers. This training includes technology-based processes for Advance Polls and paper-based processes for Election Day.

Administrative Assistant Role
This role reports to the Returning Officer in the electoral division. The Returning Officer reports to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (Elections Alberta), an independent office of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta.
Two Administrative Assistants will be appointed to each provincial electoral division to provide election administration support. The Administrative Assistant is the first line of contact for the public, candidates, and other election stakeholders. They are also responsible for completing most of the data entry for the returning office, while also managing issuing special ballots to electors in the electoral division.

IT Support Staff Role
This role reports to the Returning Officer in the electoral division. The Returning Officer reports to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (Elections Alberta), an independent office of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta.
One IT Support Staff is appointed in each provincial electoral division to provide support for the technology used at the returning office and at advance poll locations. The IT Support Staff supports the trainer in conducting training for election officers and provides IT support throughout all advance poll days, as well as general support throughout the election period.

Election Clerk Role
Election Clerks are appointed in each electoral division to provide election management support for the Returning Officer. The Election Clerk, under the guidance of the Returning Officer, assists in the administration of the relevant legislation in the electoral division and ensures all staff and election officers adhere to all requirements set out in legislation.
The Election Clerk assists the Returning Officer in preparing for the election, recruiting returning office staff, establishing a returning office and conducting the election.
If the Returning Officer becomes ineligible or unable to continue in their role, the Election Clerk shall be appointed as the Returning Officer.
