Full-Time Salary Position, based on 35 Hours/Week 

Regions Served: 

Leduc & Wetaskiwin County Regions (office based in Leduc) 




Position Summary

The Member Relations Manager owns the performance of the Chamber's member relations function — leading membership sales, member retention, and non-dues revenue programs across all communities served, throughout Leduc and Wetaskiwin Counties — and directly supervises and coaches the Membership Team to deliver against the Chamber's weekly Scorecard targets. This role is accountable for results, not just activity: it sets the team's targets, removes obstacles, and reports progress to the CEO and Leadership Team. 


Key Accountabilities

1. Membership Sales

  • Develop and execute annual membership sales and growth strategies.
  • Builds and manages the team's prospect pipeline; personally leads sales conversations with key or strategic prospects.
  • Sets weekly call and visit expectations for the Coordinators and reviews pipeline progress.
  • Works with Communications and Marketing team on development of sales and marketing material related to membership. 


2. Member Relations, Retention & Engagement

  • Owns the Chamber-wide member retention strategy and the member visitation/check-in cadence.
  • Personally, manages relationships with members.
  • Develop strategies to improve member retention and satisfaction. 
  • Ensure regular communication and engagement with existing members. 
  • Address member concerns and identify solutions that enhance member value. 
  • Promote member benefits, programs, events, and chamber initiatives. 
  • Conduct renewal campaigns and track retention metrics.

3. Business Roundtables + Mixer Events

  • Leads the roundtable and mixer calendar and strategy across all communities (minimum 1 event every 6 months).
  • Works with the Events Manager to secure sponsors, MC/hosts, and venue partners for roundtables and mixer in each community (minimum 1 event every 6 months). 
  • Directs the Coordinators on logistics and on-the-ground execution.


4. Highway Sign Sales

  • Leads the highway sign sales target and vacancy rate.
  • Works with marketing team on strategies.
  • Works with the admin/finance team on renewals as needed.
  • Sales & prospecting — build/work pipeline for sign vacancies, prioritize franchises & funded businesses.
  • Onboarding & contract management with ATS.
  • Marketing & campaign execution — lead highway sign campaign launch with Marketing.
  • Client relationship & sign upkeep — monitor condition, notify clients, manage renewals.


5. Chamber's Plan Sales

  • Owns the Chamber's Plan sales target and member growth number.
  • Send referrals to Chamber’s Plan working with the Membership Team.

6. Job Connector & Job Resource Coordination

  • Oversees the Job Connector program and job resource offerings as a member service and non-dues grants revenue channel.
  • Ensures the program is actively promoted to members and resourced appropriately.


7. Other Non-Dues Member Revenue

  • Identifies and develops new non-dues revenue opportunities (sponsorships, partnerships, value-add programs).
  • Owns the overall non-dues revenue target.


8. Devon and Pigeon Lake Board Management

  • Attend monthly Board Meetings.
  • Organize Agenda, Minutes and Monthly Board update, working with the Membership Team.


Team Leadership

  • Directly supervises, coaches, and evaluates the Member Relations Coordinator(s) and Member Relations Admin Assistant.
  • Leads the team's weekly Scorecard review meeting.
  • Sets individual activity expectations (calls, visits, check-ins) and holds the team accountable to them.
  • Conducts regular 1:1 coaching conversations, held separately from Scorecard review.
  • Escalates resourcing, budget, or performance issues to the CEO.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of proven success in sales, business development, account management, membership development, or client relationship management.
  • Experience meeting and exceeding revenue, sales, or membership growth targets.
  • Previous experience in a Chamber of Commerce, non-profit organization, association, economic development organization, or business network is considered an asset.
  • Supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.


Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong consultative sales, networking and relationship-building abilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to engage with business owners, executives, and community leaders.
  • Strong customer service and member engagement focus.
  • Proficiency with CRM databases, Microsoft 365, and membership management software.
  • Experience analyzing membership trends, sales metrics, and retention data.


Requirements

  • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout Leduc & Wetaskiwin Communities served.
  • Ability to attend occasional early morning, evening, and weekend business events.
