Full time landscape technician position located in Leduc, AB.

Remuneration will be based on level of experience and qualifications.

Job Description:

Duties include mowing grass using a push mower and zero turn, trimming edges with a weed whip, hand pulling weeds, granular fertilizer application, shearing shrubs, young tree pruning, groundsman labour on tree removal jobs, landscape installation and grading, spring and fall clean ups. This is a position suited to someone that enjoys working outside and is interested in learning about landscape maintenance and arboriculture.

For the right individual, this may become a year round position. In fall/ winter months out of town work assisting in arboricultre operations throughout central alberta as well as locally performing snow removal operations.

Qualifications:

- Current Alberta Class 5 drivers license with a clean drivers abstract and a reliable source of transportation

- Must be a Canadian citizen and speak, read, and write English fluently.

- Must be physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly.

- Must be willing to work outdoors in all types of weather.

- Must be willing to work alone or in a team setting.

- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions on a work order and read maps.

- Preference will be given to students currently or previously enrolled in environmental science, biological science, or horticulture programs and/ or persons that have previous landscape/ tree work experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 45 per week
