GFL Environmental is looking for a Site Attendant/Spotter to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta! 


As a Site Attendant, you are responsible to ensure that the site is operating in a neat, tidy and cost-effective manner.

Job Duties:

  • Direct incoming and outgoing commercial vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Communicate with Scale attendant, Drivers, Heavy Equipment Operators.

  • Proactively participate in GFL safety culture and training.

  • Report any incidents or hazards immediately to Supervisor.

  • Stop any unsafe activities immediately and report to Supervisor.

  • Be Punctual and maintain excellent attendance.

  • General housekeeping of the site including tip floor, bay doors, ramps, roadways, scale areas, buildings, fence line, and parking lot.

  • Participate in Monthly Facility Inspections.

  • Be prepared to work in inclement weather as this is primarily an outside job.

  • Wear required PPE as per GFL policy and Legislated law.

  • Assist Operators with the maintenance and care of their heavy and operational equipment if required.

  • Lift up to 40 lbs. if required

  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently as required.

  • Required to have a valid driver’s license. • Basic knowledge of equipment e.g. wheel loader, forklift, and skid steer.

  • Self-starter, motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong relationship and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent communication skills in oral and written English.

  • Strong ability to follow oral and written instructions properly.
