Duties and Responsibilities:

- Attend to service calls requiring a plumber, as requested by Samson Cree Nation members.

- Sewer backups, leaking pipes, plugged drains and toilets

- Select the type and size of pipe required and measure, cut, thread, bend, clamp, solvent, cement and solder pipe

- Assemble and install valve and fittings

- Join pipe sections and secure them in position

- Test pipe system for leaks

- Install underground sanitary and water piping systems

- Installing sinks, tubs, showers, toilets, hose bibs, and water piping systems

- Heavy lifting of up to 60lbs will occur regularly

- Renovating, maintaining and repairing existing plumbing

- Helps keep a daily list of houses visited, calls completed and materials needed and used

- Perform other related duties as requested by the manager

Qualifications:

- Must be a certified Journeyman at an accredited Alberta Training facility

- Must be willing to train two apprentices if required

- Must have a valid Class 5 Drivers License

- Must have a Drivers Abstract, Criminal Record Check, and Child Welfare Check

- Must have own plumbing tools/equipment

- Priority given to Samson Cree Nation members

- May be subject to drug and alcohol testing
