About the Role:
As a Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic at IRON 5, you’ll play a key role in keeping our customers’ fleets running safely and efficiently. You’ll work both in-shop and with our mobile service units, handling a wide range of repairs and preventative maintenance on commercial trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair commercial trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and air systems
- Perform CVIP inspections (if licensed)
- Complete work orders and document findings using our digital platform
- Ensure all repairs meet safety and regulatory standards
- Maintain a clean, organized work area
- Work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision
- Prioritize safety, compliance, and quality workmanship in every job
What You Bring:
- Journeyman or 3rd/4th Year Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (required)
- Experience with commercial vehicles, trailers, and construction equipment (required)
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- CVIP license (asset)
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license (required); Class 3 or higher (asset)
- Own tools (required)
- Able to lift 50 lbs and work in various shop and field conditions
- Positive attitude, reliability, and commitment to quality
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and cross-training
