About the role: Job Development Specialist (JDS) – Construction Industry Focus

Are you passionate about helping Albertans build meaningful careers in the construction industry? We’re hiring two full-time Job Development Specialists (JDS) to guide and support participants in preparing for and entering construction-related employment.

The JDS will:

· Support individuals in exploring construction career pathways and identifying suitable opportunities.

· Assist participants with obtaining external certifications and hands-on experience in real work environments.

· Provide one-on-one support with resume and cover letter development, job search strategies, and interview preparation.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with construction employers, training providers, and industry associations.

· Deliver presentations and information sessions to connect Albertans with opportunities in the construction sector.

· This position requires the ability to drive short-long distances using your own vehicle.

Experience in the construction industry, workforce development, or employment services is considered a strong asset

Qualifications:

- College diploma, certificate, or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.

- Background or certification in trades, construction, or vocational training is an asset.

- Equivalent industry experience may also be considered.

Salary: Will be commensurate with the candidate’s education and experience.

The Job Development Specialist (JDS) role requires employees to have an Alberta class 5 Driver’s License, a registered vehicle, adequate basic liability insurance, and a clear driver’s abstract. An additional $1 million liability is recommended in this role as the successful candidate will be transporting clients in their car from time to time. Furthermore, this position requires a clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector check to be submitted prior to commencement.
