Wetaskiwin Co-op is recruiting for the part-time position of Home Center Sales Associate at our busy Home and Building Center, located at 4707 40 Ave in Wetaskiwin, Alberta.

Wetaskiwin Co-op is located in central Alberta operating in 9 locations in 5 communities of Wetaskiwin, Innisfail, Camrose, Edmonton and Falun.  We operate in a variety of product lines including consumer hardware, building products, crop inputs, petroleum, liquor and feed manufacturing. We believe in working together to serve our members and customers throughout Alberta, delivering profits back to our members and communities and investing in sustainable growth.  We are looking for team members and team leaders who will embrace our Co-op brand and values of Integrity, Excellence, Community and Service.  

 

What you’ll do: 

Reporting to the Hardware Manager, the Home Center Sales Associate is a highly motivated and customer-oriented individual who has strong attention to detail. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting customers in selecting the right products, and driving sales within our home and building center.Duties will include but are not limited to:

• Providing customers with good, efficient, courteous service.
• Actively engage with customers, build rapport, and identify their needs. Offer product recommendations and solutions that meet customer requirements.
• Ensure a clean, organized, and well-stocked sales floor.
• Complete up-to-date in-house training and certifications via manuals and videos.
• Assist with merchandise displays and promotions. 
• Ensure the quality and condition of all merchandise meets store standards. Alert for unauthorized removal of merchandise and equipment.

 

Who you are: 

You are looking for a career in the Retail industry and: 

• You have experience in a customer service environment with proven positive customer interactions.
• Experience in Hardware, Retail, and Building Products Sales is considered an asset.
• You quickly prioritize individual responsibilities and effectively manage time under deadlines.
• You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
• You’re honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do.
• You have the willingness to learn about renovation supplies, home improvement processes, hand tools, and fireplaces/woodstoves. Training will be provided to strengthen product knowledge.
• Previous Building Center and Retail experience is considered an asset.
