Position Overview

Global Power Systems Group is looking for a reliable and hardworking General Labourer to support yard and shop operations at our Nisku, AB locations.

This role assists with equipment handling, shipping/receiving, yard maintenance, equipment cleaning and general shop support. The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-focused, and ready to contribute to a fast-paced industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely load and unload equipment, parts, and materials
• Operate forklifts and other yard equipment
• Palletize and prepare parts and equipment for shipping
• Assist with shipping and receiving duties
• Move equipment and materials between yard, shop, and storage areas
• Clean, organize, and maintain yard and shop areas
• Wash, detail, grease, and prepare equipment for delivery
• Assist mechanics with basic labour support and minor repairs
• Paint, sand, and perform general maintenance tasks
• Conduct basic inspections and report any concerns to the Manager
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
• Follow all health and safety procedures
• Support inventory counts and yard organization as directed

Skills & Qualifications

• Previous general labour or yard experience preferred
• Forklift experience or certification considered an asset
• Experience operating loaders or other equipment preferred
• Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physical labour
• Woodworking experience welcome for pallet/crate repair
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Ability to take direction and work well within a team
• Basic mechanical aptitude preferred
• Oilfield or industrial experience considered an asset
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license needed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00-$25.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Nisku, AB T9E 8L6: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:

• Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:

• Yard: 1 year (preferred)

Language:

• English (required)

Licence/Certification:

• Forklift Licence (preferred)
• Class 5 Licence (required)
