Position: 

Events Assistant – Summer Student Position 

Reports To: 

Chamber CEO 

Compensation: 

35 Hours/Week, May – August 2026  
between Monday-Friday from 8:30am-4:30 pm 

 

Eligibility: 

Candidate must meet specific eligibility outlined by the Canada Summer Job Grant 





Position is in partner with:   

  • The Leduc, Nisku, Wetaskiwin Chamber of Commerce 
  • Leduc Downtown Business Association (LDBA)  
  • Leduc and District Historic Society (LDHS)   
  • Alberta Legacy Development Society, Leduc Grain Elevator (ALDS)   

 

The Ideal Candidate: 

  • Comfortable working a fast-paced environment 
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays 
  • Team player 
  • Strong communication skills with an outgoing personality and ability to talk to members, engage with the public, give directions to volunteers etc. 
  • Interest in history, photography and or content creation would be an asset 

 

Community Outreach 

  • Be the voice for all 4 partners – connect with members of the community at the events you attend 
  • Accompany the supervisor on business visits to share communications and notices 

 

Events Promotion & Execution: 

  • Chamber Events support—working with the Event Manager and team for events such as golf tournaments, and luncheons 
  • LDBA, LDHS & ALDS Events support—work downtown events such as Canada Day celebrations, Friday outdoor markets, historical tours and various community partner events 
  • Support the team with event prep before, setup, coordination and take down after events 
  • Equipment organization and event supplies inventory 

Admin 

  • Help the supervisor with general office duties
  • Make updates to the LDBA member database


Education/Experience 

  • No formal education required, but experience will be given preference 
  • Ability to commit to a minimum 35 hours per week  
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge, and ability to use and learn various programs including Microsoft, Google Suite, etc.  

Other 

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs 
  • Must have a vehicle and valid drivers license
