Commissionaires Northern Alberta Group (CNAG) is an training company consisting of CNAG Public Safety Solutions and CNAG Property Management. We have opened a Veteran-powered Training Centre in Nisku, AB. CNAG Public Safety Solutions is Hiring Veterans of the CAF, RCMP, and serving Reservists! We are open to the public and our clients include the Canadian Armed Forces, Law Enforcement, Emergency Management, Security, and the First Responder community.

Role Description
This is a casual position located in Nisku, AB, with flexibility for some hybrid work and a possibility of developing this role into full time. As an Emergency Management Training Instructor / Coordinator, you will be responsible for designing, planning, and delivering emergency preparedness and response training programs. Responsibilities include developing emergency management training, ensuring compliance with applicable training programs, coordinating training and exercises, and providing ongoing support and training to individuals and teams. This role also involves evaluating and updating training content to ensure alignment with industry standards and best practices.
The CNAG team is building a cadre of instructors and will also work with public safety and emergency management companies and consultants. CNAG will prioritize hiring veterans of the CAF, RCMP, and other law enforcement or responders.
Ideally, who are you?
An experienced CAF or RCMP veteran or serving reservist who has re-skilled into Emergency Management or First Responder work. You want to work with other veterans in a professional education setting while contributing to the Public Safety and preparedness of Albertans. You have real, hands-on experience, people skills, and love to instruct.
Attributes
• CAF or RCMP Experience with leadership and instructor training
• Experience in First Responder, Emergency Social Services, Non-governmental organizations, or Civil Society organizations is valued
• Diploma or Degree in Emergency Management
• Certified in Alberta to instruct Incident Command System Canada courses
• Knowledge and experience in Emergency Management in Alberta at the First Nation, Corporate, Municipal, or Provincial government level.
• CAF Domestic Operations, Search and Rescue, and AB Wildfire experience is valued
• Experience in exercise design and delivering effective training programs
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to adapt to hybrid work environments and work both independently and collaboratively
• Experience in First Responder, Emergency Social Services, Non-governmental organizations, or Civil Society organizations is valued
