Community Representative - Wetaskiwin

Community Representative for Communities in our Catchment area. 

The Community Representative (CR) acts as the primary relationship builder between KidSport Leduc and County and the community stakeholders. These include, but are  not limited to, the athletic associations, the business community, community groups,  and local governments in the community.  

The term is for three one-year appointments. A total of six appointments are can be served. 

Responsibilities 

● Provide leadership and advice to the Board of Directors including but not limited  to; Strategic Planning, and any applicable sub-committee and

ad-hoc  committees. 

● Participate in monthly Board Meetings through inclusive and respectful dialogue  and time management. 

● Develop and maintain strong relationships with community athletic associations  and partners. 

● Attend your community’s athletic association meetings and events as needed.

● Communicate in regular intervals with organized athletic associations in your  community. 

● Review financial documents, act, and sign (when applicable), with fiduciary  responsibility. 

● Ensure provincial guidelines are being met, uphold brand standards, and stay abreast of new regulations. 

● Participate in the creation of local KidSport activities and programs 

● Attend fundraising events in the community, and be an outward face of the  organization. 

● Participate in annual Board Evaluations. 

● Attend KidSport Alberta and KidSport Canada meetings and events where  required. 

● Attend 80% of the annual KidSport Leduc and County Board monthly meetings  A reasonable exception can be made with Chair approval and advance notice.

● Provide a clean Vulnerable Sector Police Check. Rev. 


Skills, Experience, and Attributes 

● Experience in Governance is preferred but not required. 

● Organized and possesses strong time management skills. 

● Develop and maintain relationships with community members and partners. ● Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 

● Ability to act with integrity and respect at all times. 

● Keep and maintain confidentiality, including but not limited to: KidSport families  and their information, both financial and personal. 

● Irreproachably represent KidSport Canada, KidSport AB, and KidSport Leduc  and County.
