Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to join our service team in Leduc at DK Ford. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair, maintenance, and diagnostics, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, we have recently added 10 bays to our Service Department. This role involves performing repairs, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring customer vehicles are serviced to the highest standards. Experience with dealership operations, welding, and mechanical systems is highly valued. The Automotive Technician plays a vital role in maintaining vehicle safety and performance while providing excellent customer service.

Duties

  • Diagnose and repair a wide range of automotive issues using schematics and technical manuals
  • Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire rotations, and fluid replacements
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to complete repairs efficiently and safely
  • Read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics for complex repairs
  • Conduct inspections to identify mechanical problems and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Assist with assembly and disassembly of vehicle components during repairs or upgrades
  • Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used for each vehicle
  • Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications
  • Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs needed and answering questions professionally

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Automotive Technician or Mechanic, preferably with dealership experience
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems and components
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics reading
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicle parts or equipment
  • Experience with automotive repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques
  • Knowledge of automotive assembly processes is a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
