Additional Information:
Wetaskiwin Composite High School is seeking full time Administrative Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year. The successful candidate will be a member of the office support team, in supporting the staff and students of Wetaskiwin Composite High School.
The Administrative Assistant is responsible for a wide variety of tasks in support of the school, its staff and the student body. The School Based Administrative Assistant will act as a main point of contact for the school and will ensure communications are conducted in a professional manner at all times in order to maintain positive staff and public relations. The incumbent will also facilitate and coordinate the school’s enrolment and registration efforts, will effectively track attendance, oversee office and school-related financial functions, generate and provide reports in respect of their various responsibilities, perform various duties to ensure effective administration of the office and will consistently ensure the accuracy of all data generation. The Administrative Assistant will further be required to provide support to the school’s faculty and student body, providing required supervision, assistance and information where requested.
Preference will be given to candidates who possess the following qualifications:
- Minimum two years of relevant experience working in an administrative setting
- Business Administration Certificate preferred
- Demonstrated experience in data management and record keeping
- Experience working in a school setting is considered an asset
Skills and Knowledge:
- Proven ability to work effectively with the public, students and fellow employees
- Basic understanding of Alberta Education requirements, policies and school operations preferred
- Previous experience utilizing electronic student record systems and electronic filing systems considered an asset
- Mathematical, bookkeeping and/or accounting abilities
- Previous experience utilizing Docushare, Rycor and PowerSchool considered an asset
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently to meet timelines
