Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Assistant (Accounts Receivable focus) to join our accounting team. This role is essential to maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely collections, and supporting the overall financial efficiency of our dealership. The ideal candidate will combine technical accounting skills with strong communication and customer service abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately process and record incoming payments in the accounting system.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts.
- Communicate with clients to resolve payment issues with professionalism and tact.
- Use PBS Dealer Management System to manage accounts and transactions.
- Perform accurate data entry for invoices and payments, ensuring data integrity.
- Reconcile bank statements with internal records, promptly resolving discrepancies.
- Maintain clear, organized records of financial transactions and client communications.
- Assist in cash flow forecasting by analyzing financial information.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 1+ year of experience in accounts receivable, accounting, or a similar role.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service skills, including professional phone and written communication.
- Proficiency in PBS Dealer Management System (mandatory).
- Knowledge of the automotive industry and general accounting principles.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple accounts and deadlines.
- High school diploma required; additional training in bookkeeping or administration is an asset.
- Previous front desk or administrative experience is preferred.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and ability to commute reliably to Leduc, AB (or relocate).
