Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC)

Individuals applying for a Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL) for the first time must successfully complete the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) before submitting their licence application.

The course includes classroom instruction followed by both a written examination and a practical firearms-handling test.

Key eligibility requirements include:

Anyone aged 12 years or older may take the Canadian Firearms Safety Course.

Children under 12 years of age may attend for educational purposes only and are not permitted to complete the written or practical examinations.

To obtain a Minor’s Licence for borrowing and using non-restricted firearms, applicants must be between 12 and 17 years of age.

Individuals seeking to acquire restricted firearms must also complete the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC) and successfully pass both the written and practical examinations.

Our experienced instructors provide a supportive learning environment designed to help participants develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence required for safe and responsible firearms ownership.
