Structural Engineer (EIT) - Devon

Rus-Tec Engineering Ltd is seeking a Structural Engineer (E.I.T) to join our team on a full-time basis.

The ideal candidate is a team player who is confident to plan, design, and execute structural engineering projects in collaboration with lead engineers. Applicants must have strong organizational skills and be motivated to grow within their role. This position will involve a variety of design, project management, and field work related to commercial, industrial, and residential building projects.

Duties

     - Perform engineering calculations, analysis and design of structural elements including concrete, steel, masonry, wood, light-gauge metal and precast using the latest and applicable building and design codes and standards.

     - Perform structural site inspections to gather data and prepare technical reports, such as site review/inspection reports and compliance letters.

     - Generate deliverable documentation (i.e. drawings & specifications) for structural projects which require accuracy in calculations and completeness of data.

     - Take accountability for quality of service and profitability on assigned structural engineering projects.

     - Accurately follow specifications outlined in proposed projects and ensure overall production goals and requirements are achieved

     - Project management including consultation, field support, and client satisfaction

Experience

     - Bachelor of Engineering from an accredited university.

     - Registered with the Association of Professional Engineers at a provincial association (APEGA).

     - Familiar with relevant Canadian building codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (CSA, NBCC, etc.)

     - Understanding of steel, concrete and wood construction is an asset

     - Experience in multi-family residential construction and/or timber frame design considered an asset

     - Competency in various modelling and analysis software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, SAFI, S-FRAME, RISA, STAAD, ETABS, etc.

     - Experience with finite-element programs (e.g., Ansys) considered an asset

     - Confidence with the preparation of structural design drawing packages including structural plans, sections and details, foundation plans, etc.

     - Excellent communication skills (interpersonal and written) and proven ability to collaborate with team members in a multi-disciplined environment.

     - Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout Alberta Canada (incl. remote areas)
