Recreation Assistant - Leduc
(30 hours/week). 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
The Recreation Assistant has a critical role within our communities and is responsible for assisting with
supporting the Recreation & Volunteer Manager in implementing activities, programs & events
based on the 7 areas of wellness: physical, social, cognitive, spiritual, emotional, environmental
and creativity. This will involve strong organizational skills in the development and
implementation of a wide range of senior’s programs and activities. The Recreation Assistant will
encourage lodge residents to participate in activities offered by the lodge, as it impacts the lives
of residents and ignites the warmth of human connection.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Relevant certification/leisure studies or equivalent.
2. Strong organizational skills.
3. Strong written and verbal communication skills, computer proficiency.
4. Emergency First Aid Certificate.
5. Ability to work closely and effectively with seniors, volunteers and community groups.
6. Experience in working with seniors including an understanding of motivation concepts
with seniors
7. Ability to work independently
8. Class 4 Driver’s License.
9. Satisfactory Criminal Records Check including Vulnerable Sector Check.
10. Pass a pre-employment fit to work assessment
All employees will be required to have a Pre-Employment Fit to Work Assessment, and a
satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
