Overview

The Labourer supports the activities of the machine shop. This includes operating machinery and equipment in a safe manner and performing general shop labour work.

Duties

  • Assembling plugs and stems.
  • Assisting machinists with minor machining tasks.
  • Unloading trucks.
  • Cutting materials.
  • Emptying chip bins.
  • Operating bandsaw, arbor press, and drill press.
  • Operating forklift and overheard crane.
  • Maintaining clean shop.
  • Assume duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Other Key Considerations

  • Previous experience in manufacturing or machine shop is an asset.

Salary: Starts at $20/hr, and shall commensurate based on skills and experience.
