We are currently searching for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. This is a (part-time, evening) shift position at our Leduc location. Our Leduc facility is only a short commute from the following South Edmonton neighbourhoods…
Allard (20km) – 18 minutes
Chappelle (22km) – 19 minutes
Summerside & Ellerslie (23km) – 20 minutes
Twin Brooks (24km) – 21 minutes


Position Summary:
The LPN is responsible for planning nursing care in an assigned area as required by individualized client needs and according to dependent and independent nursing functions while adhering to recognized nursing techniques, procedures, and established standards based on the scope of practical nursing, under the direction of the LPN Team Lead and the Director of Care

What You Bring to the Role:
  • Graduated from an accredited school of Nursing.
  • Valid license and registration in good standing with Licensing Body of Alberta (CLPNA)
  • Current Healthcare Provider training.
  • Current CPR and First AID Certification
  • Minimum 1 year in nursing in a seniors assisted living environment preferred.
  • Delivers, practices, and role-models person-centered care.
  • Treats residents and families as equal partners in the planning of care and respects and upholds their opinions.
  • Demonstrates emotional intelligence.
  • Effectively communicates by conveying information accurately, listening effectively and asking questions when clarification is needed.
  • A team player and efficient while working independently.
Your Responsibilities:
  • Performing duties and services required by the Client Service Care Plan
  • Safe appropriate administration of medication as per current Standards
  • Supervising HCA staff to ensure safe appropriate implementation of client’s service plans
  • Updating services for Health Care clientele
  • Performing invasive procedures as per accepted CLPNA standards and company policies
  • Teaching delegated nursing tasks to staff as per accepted practice standards
  • Facilitating team communication to provide safe appropriate care services
  • Communicating with family, AHS, healthcare agencies, physicians and others regarding the needs and wellbeing of the residents
  • Perform delegated independent nursing functions using established procedures, policies, guidelines, and standards as observed by the registered nurse, supervisor or DOC.
  • Perform selected tasks related to patient care and the patient's environment in a safe manner.
  • Administer medication accurately, observing patient response, as evidenced by documentation in the medical record.
  • Verify the medications being administered.
  • Assist patients and family members with concern and empathy and with respect to their confidentiality and privacy.
