SUMMARY
Century Mile Racetrack and Casino is looking for an evening Chef de Partie/Saucier to join our kitchen team.
As a Chef de Partie/Saucier you will:
• coordinate activities of food preparation and service
• prepare and cook food in a manner which will ensure a quality appearance and taste
• consistently maintain a clean and well-organized kitchen at all times
• perform all duties in compliance with safety standards, health standards and the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission (AGLC)
QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated cooking experience, preferably within a hospitality, restaurant or gaming environment. Demonstrated experience performing within specific deadlines or under pressure. Demonstrated experience problem solving, organizing and prioritizing work.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Graduation from High School, or the equivalent in education and experience. One (1) or more years of recent and related cooking experience, preferably within a hospitality, restaurant or gaming environment.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
WHMIS food safe certificate. Journeyman cook certificate or equivalent will be considered an asset.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• frequent brisk walking
• stooping, bending, stretching, reaching, kneeling, squatting
• standing for entire work shift, with standard breaks
• lifting trays containing food
• lifting up to 50 pounds to stack, store or move kitchen, restaurant supplies and equipment
• floors which may become slippery in the process of preparing food and beverages.
Essential duties may involve working in a kitchen environment that contains loud noise, odors and a frequently hot cold work environment due to running ovens and refrigeration units.
This position would require evenings and weekends
