SUMMARY

Century Mile Racetrack and Casino is looking for an evening Chef de Partie/Saucier to join our kitchen team.

As a Chef de Partie/Saucier you will:

    coordinate activities of food preparation and service

    prepare and cook food in a manner which will ensure a quality appearance and taste

    consistently maintain a clean and well-organized kitchen at all times

    perform all duties in compliance with safety standards, health standards and the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission (AGLC)

QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrated cooking experience, preferably within a hospitality, restaurant or gaming environment. Demonstrated experience performing within specific deadlines or under pressure. Demonstrated experience problem solving, organizing and prioritizing work.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Graduation from High School, or the equivalent in education and experience. One (1) or more years of recent and related cooking experience, preferably within a hospitality, restaurant or gaming environment.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

WHMIS food safe certificate. Journeyman cook certificate or equivalent will be considered an asset.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    frequent brisk walking

    stooping, bending, stretching, reaching, kneeling, squatting

    standing for entire work shift, with standard breaks

    lifting trays containing food

    lifting up to 50 pounds to stack, store or move kitchen, restaurant supplies and equipment

    floors which may become slippery in the process of preparing food and beverages.

Essential duties may involve working in a kitchen environment that contains loud noise, odors and a frequently hot cold work environment due to running ovens and refrigeration units.

This position would require evenings and weekends
