$86,850.40 - $108,563.00 / annum

What is the opportunity?

We are currently recruiting for a permanent, full-time Applications Analyst in our Enterprise Systems and Analytics department. The applications analyst plays a crucial role in collaborating with other departments, vendors, and the rest of the IT team to support applications and lead enhancement projects. These applications that the analyst supports play a critical role in daily operations in the City, so the availability of applications must be ensured. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in analyzing, designing, and implementing software applications, focusing on improving efficiency and effectiveness. 


What will you do?

  • Design, test, and implement software solutions to meet business needs.
  • Provide support and maintain the application environment to ensure availability and stability.
  • Support users with incident management, identify and resolve systems issues, and act as the first point of contact with vendors. 
  • Develop application road maps to ensure the sustainment of applications.
  • Provide expert advice and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful solution delivery.
  • Systems analysis of the effectiveness and efficiency of solutions & develop strategies for improvement.
  • Assist in developing, reviewing, and maintaining organizational standards and templates to increase consistency and efficiency.
  • Provide mentorship to junior team members.


What do you need to succeed?

You are an ideal candidate if you have the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related discipline or post-secondary Diploma and equivalent years of experience
  • Minimum five (5) years of proven experience implementing, managing and supporting business applications both on-premise and SaaS
  • Minimum five (5) years of proven experience in administering web application servers such as Microsoft IIS.
  • Minimum five (5) years of proven experience in administering or using a relational database such as Microsoft SQL Server
  • Minimum three (3) years of proven experience in project management, processes, and tools
  • Experience in business process optimization and the development of data integration and data interoperability
  • The ability to develop Business Intelligence and Analytics platforms and/or products
  • Strong technical and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.


Preferred:

  • ITIL Foundations Certificate, PMP or PRINCE2 accreditation is considered an asset
  • Experience with administering Municipal Asset management applications such as CityWorks and SeeClickFix is considered an asset
  • Experience with administering Municipal Permitting applications such as CityView is considered an asset
  • Experience administering Municipal Financial applications such as Workday and Diamond GP is considered an asset
  • Experience administering Public Safety applications used for Fire Records Management or Computer Aided Dispatch is considered an asset
  • Experience developing and administering SharePoint is considered an asset
