Trade Tariffs and Supporting Our Members
Chamber Statement on the U.S. Trade Tariffs
The recent tariffs imposed on Canadian goods represent a significant economic challenge that will impact our regional businesses, supply chains, and local economy. Many local entrepreneurs, manufacturers, and service providers have built their businesses on principles of international cooperation with the U.S. and mutual economic growth. We recognize the implications and uncertainty that these trade barriers present.
However, we are not without hope. We believe in the resilience of our region and those who do business here.
To our business community: You are not alone in this challenge. Now is the time to rally as a business community. Connect, collaborate, and work with local and national providers to restructure supply chains and find new sales markets. This community is resilient, and we know we can keep our economy moving. The Chamber is prepared to be your strategic partner, offering guidance, resources, and unwavering support.
The Chamber can assist with:
- Connection to Local Suppliers: We can help connect you to businesses in our community that fit your needs for goods or materials, or that may have connections to what you need.
- Networking Opportunities: Our upcoming events are designed to facilitate meaningful connections, partnerships, and potential collaborations.
- Advocacy and Resources: We continue to work with policymakers and industry leaders to voice your concerns and advocate for policies that support business success.
In addition to that we will be:
- Hosting targeted workshops to help businesses navigate and understand the tariff implications.
- Providing one-on-one consulting through our small business support resources.
We implore all levels of government to work collaboratively towards solutions that protect Canadian businesses and economic interests.
The Leduc, Nisku & Wetaskiwin Regional Chamber of Commerce has a vision for a vibrant, prosperous, and sustainable region, serving and strengthening business and community by representing over 1,200 members.
