CELEBRATE NASCAR WEEK “MAYOR DECLARES THE WEEK OF JULY 18 - JULY 23 AS NASCAR WEEK IN WETASKIWIN” On Saturday July 23rd, the Edmonton International Raceway (EIR) is holding it’s feature race of the year. The Pinty’s Series is a national stock car racing series in Canada that is sanctioned by NASCAR. The NASCAR Pinty’s Series BAYER 300 will be racing on EIR’s ¼ mile semi-banked paved track. EIR and NASCAR Pinty’s has been in a partnership since 2014 hosting the western leg of the Canadian tour here in Wetaskiwin. The entire race will be highlighted on TSN along with a large media presence coming to our fine city of Wetaskiwin. Our estimation will be an additional 10,000 visitors coming to this feature event. Previous winners of this Race include Alex Ranger (2014), Scott Steckly (2015), Alex Tagliani (2016), Alex Labbe (2017), L.P. Dumoulin (2018), Alex Ranger (2019) racing over 75,000 miles in 300 laps.
