MEMBER HOSTED EVENT: Harvest Festival

August 31, 2024 10:00 AM - September 1, 2024 5:00 PM (MDT)

Description

Families will enjoy steam threshing, a children's carnival, petting zoo, and more. Watch us bring in the harvest! Things to do on the grounds include: watch as we harvest our crop using both steam and gasoline-powered equipment, see threshing machines at work, view the modern John Deere equipment display from Martin Deerline in Wetaskiwin, watch tractor starting demonstrations, watch swathing, combining, and ploughing demonstrations. The whole family will enjoy the tractor rides on a 1914 Rumely Steam Traction Engine, playing carnival games and winning prizes in the Family Fun Zone, visiting your animal friends in the petting zoo and then grabbing a bite from a selection of food trucks. Things to do in the Museum include: learning how to bake bread and sampling a slice, learning how to make rope, seeing how a grain elevator works and dancing to the music of the Foggy Minded Mountain Boys! A detailed schedule of the daily activities will be posted on the Museum's web site, Facebook and Instagram just before the event. We recommend you arrive early and purchase your admission tickets in advance to avoid lineups. This event is proudly co-presented by Martin Deerline.
