2026 Devon Small Business Learning Series: Make it official, launching your business

JOIN US for the first event in our Devon Home-Based/Small Business Learning Series. Taking your business idea, side hustle or small business to the next level by getting registered and licensed properly doesn't have to be complicated. This session will give you a clear roadmap, with plenty of time to ask questions and to network. There's a lot more to running a business than most people realize — GST numbers, licenses, WCB, insurance. We'll help you sort out what applies to you.

You should attend if you:

• Are just getting started,
• Have a business idea and aren't sure where to begin, or
• Have been operating as a sole proprietor and want to ensure you are registered properly.

This session will help you:

• Learn the differences between business registration types (sole proprietorship, partnership, and corporation).
• Understand GST registration, when you need to register and how to register.
• Get clear on business license requirements, including Devon's home-based business license.
• Learn what WCB coverage is, and when you need it.
• Understand business insurance basics.

DATE/TIME: Sept 24, 2026 from 6 - 8 PM

LOCATION: Devon Community Centre, in the Dan Claypool Room

TICKETS: $15 + GST

Light after-dinner snacks and refreshments will be provided.
