Local Chamber awarded national accreditation

Press Release
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: (Leduc) The Leduc, Nisku & Wetaskiwin Regional Chamber of Commerce (LNW Chamber) has received accreditation by the Chamber Accreditation Council of Canada.

To achieve accreditation, a chamber must meet minimum standards in critical areas pivotal to a Chamber’s success, including organization/governance, policy and advocacy and membership programs/services. The accreditation program is composed of Chamber representatives from across the country.

“We are proud to recognize these chambers as examples of leading organizations making a difference in communities across the country – keeping ‘the voice of business' loud and strong” said Perrin Beatty, President and CEO of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce.

“We’re honoured to be recognized for our dedication and relevance to our business community,” said LNW Chamber President Tanis Techer, “It took a year to complete the rigorous application process and we join just six other Alberta Chambers of Commerce in being accredited Chambers.”

Also, at the Canadian Chambers of Commerce Annual General Meeting in October, LNW Chamber CEO, Jennifer Garries, offered real-world solutions to Chambers of Commerce as part of a panel discussion on how Chambers of Commerce can evolve to better serve their members. The Chamber was recognized as a leader in finding innovative solutions in both adapting to Covid-19 and partnering successfully with regional organizations. More than 400 participants took back a wealth of information to their own Chambers.

“Our team of professionals have done so much in the past few years, said Garries. “From our Discover Leduc Region tourism initiative to our StartUp program for entrepreneurs to partnering with Wetaskiwin and Devon, all while successfully adapting to the changing times and offering grant programs, hybrid learning, in-person events and a podcast! I was pleased to share information with Chambers across Canada.”
